Today we set aside the day to honor all that have served our country in uniform. Soldiers. Marines. Sailors. Airmen. Coast Guardsmen. We celebrate these men and women who have fought to keep our country free and strong.
These men and women chose to wear the uniform and put themselves in harm’s way for our country, our freedom. They wore these uniforms across the world, presenting the face of America. They paid the price for defending our values by answering the call. These men and women are our neighbors and our friends, our families and loved ones. They are united by common bonds, which are duty and remarkable courage.
They proudly served yesterday, today, and have committed to continue their service for what comes tomorrow. They live among us today and, because of them, we may all look forward to a free tomorrow. They continue to serve alongside us, leaders with integrity, strength, and a profound sense of duty and service to others.
Today is an opportunity for those who have not had the privilege of serving to learn more about these brave men and women. To learn more about the sacrifices they have made on our behalf. Past or present, there is a story to be told and heard. All were heroes and all deserve our thanks. Let us take a moment – several moments – to reflect on our veterans’ contributions and service. And thank those close to you and in your community who have served so selflessly.
With humble hearts, the GISi family extends our thanks to America’s veterans.
