Premier Release Ready Geospatial Service Firm Supports Customers with the ArcGIS Utility Extension

(Birmingham, AL) Established in 1991, Geographic Information Services, Inc. (GISinc), the Premier GIS Services firm and Esri Platinum Business partner, has received the Esri ArcGIS Utility Network Management Specialty Designation for expertise with utilities and the implementation of services using the ArcGIS Utility Network Management Extension. GISinc is the first water-focused Esri Implementation Partner to receive this designation.

About ArcGIS Utility Network Management

Per Esri’s Utility Network Management website, “In an environment of limited resources and increasingly complex networks, utilities and telecoms need a new wave of GIS-based network management with more functionality, added flexibility, and superior access to information. The ArcGIS Utility Network Management extension greatly enhances the network management capabilities within ArcGIS.”

The Utility Network Management covers multiple industries such as electric, gas, telecom water, sewer, and stormwater. The platform includes superior network management such as cross-platform support, modern networks, rules for data integrity, modernized capabilities, and cost containment.

GISinc Resources for ArcGIS Utility Network Management

In June, GISinc broadcasted a webinar series for the Esri Community called, “Going Beyond Release Ready Leveraging Esri’s Geospatial Cloud,” that showcased three of the most talked about technologies in advance of the Esri User Conference. One episode was devoted to the ArcGIS Utility Network Management, “ArcGIS Utility Network: Quick Dive Into Water Utilities.” The entire series is now available for OnDemand viewing.

“Modeling the real-world, creating a digital twin has always been something us GIS professionals are driven to accomplish. The Utility Network delivers on that promise and for the first time will enable utilities to create a true digital twin of their network in a GIS, and most importantly, access and manage from any device, anywhere. We are authoring several bundled services to help our customers and the market embrace these new tools,” says Kevin Stewart, Senior VP of Sales at GISinc.
